Repairing Common Damages: A DIY Guide

Repairing Common Damages: A DIY Guide

Accidents can happen; a puncture doesn’t have to puncture the journey. Unbeknownst to many, basic sex doll maintenance and repair can be done at home with readily available tools and materials. We recommend contacting the manufacturer for severe damage, but minor infractions are quick to work on with a simple repair kit.

As you can expect, repair strategies vary from material to material, emphasizing the need to liaise with the manufacturer’s guide. In this article, we’ll look into the best ways to repair damage and maintain your sex doll in the long run.

Sex Doll Repair: Silicone

Unbeknownst to many, silicone is more wear-resistant than TPE, rendering it less liable to minor tears after extended use. However, the often sensitive material is challenging to repair as it requires more effort and special kits that include specialized pigments and glues.

Luckily, repairing the damage to the sex doll’s previous glory is possible with the right materials and a steady hand. Some of the tools you’ll need include the following:

  • Cotton swab
  • Gloves
  • Silicone glue
  • Alcohol (Isopropyl)
  • Color-matching pigment

Once you assemble all you need:

  1. Clean the torn area to ensure it’s 100% free of dirt and debris. Foreign agents like lubricants and body fluids must also be removed, and the damaged area must be dried before any repair work commences.

Use a mild antibacterial soap or specialized sex doll cleaner. More importantly, rinse with clean water and use a lint-free cloth to absorb the excess water.

  • Mix the silicone glue and color-matching pigment in a 1:1 ratio, ensuring the concoction matches your sex doll’s skin tone. Getting the right consistency might take a while, so take your time to achieve a consistent color.
  • Use a small brush to spread the mixture to the thoroughly cleaned patch. Cover the tear fully and fill it with the concoction. More importantly, use a spatula to evenly smooth the surface so that it blends with your love doll’s skin color, ensuring you wipe off the excess.
  • Give the repaired section time to dry and cure. The recommended time is 6 to 8 hours; you must keep inspecting to see the healing. Ensure you read the curing time for the specific silicone glue you use (the time varies).

Sex Doll Repair: TPE

Unlike silicone, TPE material is more flexible and squishier on the hands than silicone. While this makes TPE sex dolls more enjoyable to use, the softer material is much easier to damage. Luckily, because of its elasticity, it’s also easier to fix.

Like with silicone sex dolls, we recommend careful handling when repairing the damaged area. More importantly, assemble the tools needed, emphasizing getting the right essentials. You’ll need the following to take care of a damaged TPE sex doll:

  • TPE glue
  • Isopropyl (cleaning alcohol)
  • Cotton swab
  • Spatula (spreading)
  • Gloves

Once you have the essential tools within arm’s reach:

  1. Clean the damaged area thoroughly with a mild soap and warm water. Unlike silicone, TPE is porous, and we recommend using a clean, wet cloth so you don’t have to saturate the material with the water.
  2. Evenly apply the TPE glue on the clean area and use the spatula to spread it. Wipe off the excess glue and carefully blend the edges with the surrounding body area to keep it neat.
  3. Finally, let the glue dry and cure completely before using the sex doll. Check with the specific TPE glue manufacturer for the curing time (most will be good to go after 30 minutes).

Routine Damage Prevention Measures

Like other sexual wellness products, we recommend taking care of your new sex doll, ensuring you don’t put it in situations that might make it more liable to damage. Some of these preventative measures include the following:

  • Oil your TPE sex doll three times a year.
  • Lubricate high-stress areas like the knees, elbows, and groin.
  • Dust the sex doll with cornstarch, especially when storing it for extended periods.
  • Never use alcohol or silicone-based wipes and lubricants on the sex doll.
  • Place fillings on the sides and bottom of a storage box.
  • Don’t store the sex doll with tight clothing or with sharp objects like jewelry.

Damage & Warranty

Manufacturers have different warranty terms, but all will mail in a repair kit and instructions for small tears so you can take care of the model at home. Sometimes, you might have to send the love doll to the warehouse for an expert to repair it.

If the love doll arrives damaged at your door, notify us as soon as possible so we can help you get a replacement where applicable. See our returns and shipping policies for more information.

Note: Sex doll DIY repair is usually reserved for small tears. Advanced damage like joint issues and finger wire breaks will require you to contact an expert who’ll guide you on how to proceed.
